ABOUT US
THE NORTH SHORE GATHERING
The North Shore Gathering was founded in 2006 by
the Rev. Barbara Ryon Hill, an ordained Unity
minister who has come to understand that churches
with their doctrine, creeds, politics, and power
struggles can stand in the way of, rather than
facilitate, people finding their personal relationship
with Spirit.
At the same time, there is value in people joining
together in the search. The North Shore Gathering
provides a community in which each person is
respected and supported on the Spiritual Journey.
Together we celebrate the presence and explore
the mysteries of Spirit within us.
The Gathering is not a church. It does not have a
doctrine. We accept without judgment any Seeker's
path to Spirit. We do not preach. We do not
proselytize. We provide experiences and
provocative messages that encourage discussion
and personal reflection and growth.
If you have ever described yourself as spiritual but
not religious, The North Shore Gathering is for you.
Barbara is an ordained
Unity minister, a
graduate of the Unity
Ministerial Education
program, the University
of Southern California,
and Ohio University.
Her training and exper-
ience in ministry as
well as organizational
communication lead
her to believe there is
a better way to come
to Spirit than through
churches as we have
known them.
Barbara's commitment
is to building a loving,
supportive community
where each person
can nurture a personal
relationship with Spirit.
